Georgie Fame (CLIVE POWELL) started backing BILLY FURY & MARTY WILDE before he went
Solo as G.FAME & The BLUE FLAMES.
Through his group went a lot of later well known musicians like JOHN McLAUGHLIN - guitar ;
COLIN GREEN - guitar; B.ODGERS - bass; JON HISEMAM & MITCH MITCHELL - drums;
ALAN SKIDMORE etc. etc.
He had two number one Hits in UK with YEAH YEAH & GETAWAY.
At end of 1966 he split from BLUE FLAMES and became more Pop orientated, and again a
No.1 Hit with Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde.
In 1971 he had an partnership with ex-ANIMALS - ALAN PRICE.
A much looked after title is : Somebody Stole My Thunder from Seventh Son album.
In the 80s & 90s he worked some years in VAN MORRISON's group as musical director.
He released some Solo LP's in the same time too.
