Tommy Boyce (1939-1994) started in the late 50s with his solo career and released
some singles, and was befriended with Bobby Hart since 1959.
BOYCE had a first great success as co-songwriter of: BE MY GUEST which charted
in a great version by FATS DOMINO.
CURTIS LEE found chart success with two songs written by T.BOYCE :
PRETTY LITTLE ANGEL EYES & UNDER THE MOON OF LOVE .
BOYCE & HART found together as a singer- songwriter Duo in the mid 60s, releasing
3 albums from 1966 till 1969 and a handful of singles : I WONDER WHAT SHEs DOING TONIGHT
reached the US-Top 10 - the song found a re-release on the great compilation : MORE NUGGETS.
Other songs got recorded by artists like PAUL REVERE; KEITH ALLISON; DEL SHANNON
and many more - With the MONKEES, for whom they wrote songs for nearly each album, they
had single hits with: LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE ; Im NOT YOUR STEPPING STONE
or VALLERI only to name a few.
When the MONKEES reformed in the mid 70s , they joined as musicians.
