The original Group was formed in 1963 with young (guitar, keyboards) STEVIE WINWOOD,
who had a great voice influenced by Ray Charles.
Winwood also wrote most of the songs, he split from the band in early 1967 to form his own
group TRAFFIC.
He also was a member of BLIND FAITH & AIRFORCE later on.
At the same time STEVIE's brother Muff also split from the band to work for ISLAND RECORD.
