BIG STAR
Alex Chilton came back together with songwriter partner CHRIS BELL with
BIG STAR in early 1972. They produced without big success two great BEATLES
or CCR influenced Powerpop LPs. BELL left the band after the 1st LP to go solo.
The group recorded a 3rd album (the LP was not released before 1978) together
with some session players, before they split in 1975.
The BOX TOPS:
Great mix from Beat, Pop & Soul produced from DAN PENN with
ALEX CHILTON' s rough & soulful voice.
The Band broke up at end of 1969 - From 1967 to 1969 they released 4 LPs.
Letter & Cry like a Baby went into TOP 5.
In 2003 BOX TOPS made an Re-Union Tour. Chilton died in spring 2010.
