First original CD-Release 1991
They are aroun d since 1964 first as The VENDORS one year later they made first recordings under the name
The IN-BETWEENS (N-Be-Tweens) next name change came by 1969 releasing the very rare album with the title
Beginnings as the AMBROSE SLADE. A Powerful psychedlic influenced Rock-Album even with a ZAPPA cover.
Chas Chandler (Animals, Hendrix etc.) took them further and shortened their name to SLADE and gave them
for time around first LP (1969-70) a skinhead image, which changed to glam rock in 1971, when a five year
run of chart success started. An trademark was the misspellings and writings of their songs.
In this time I worked for Polydor and was into jazz, when I saw them live....an unforgettable great concert which
got me back to rock again.
