QUANTUM JUMP
[Barracuda (1977) LP]

QUANTUM JUMP

RUPERT started recording in the mid 60s his first studio session was for the
BEAT MERCHANTS playing harmonica on SO FINE in 1965, as he told me
some years ago.In the same year an 45 as RUPERT & DAVID was released too.
His first solo LP : Pick Up A Bone (1971) was produced by ROGER GLOVER and
like the follow up LP UNFINISHED PICTURE (1973) released on Purple Records,
the 2nd was his first own production.
He became a well known producer for artists like: Jonesy, Fixx; Saga; Rush;'
Chris DeBurgh or Tina Turner to name a few.
QUANTUM JUMP  (active 1974-1977) :
This band he founded together with John G.Perry & Trevor Morais in 1974.
After two great progressive Jazzrock albums , which did not well sales wise,
they called it a day in 1977.
Their best known song LONG RANGER got a Re-Issue as 45 in 1979 and
hit the UK Top 10.

In 1981 RUPERT came back with his solo LP IMMUNITY, an album that sold
well in the New Wave & Synthie Pop scene of the time. Most of the lyrics
from this time on are written by poet JEANNETTE OBSTOJ.
After the next solo LPs did not sell so  well, he released all his recordings
from 1985 to 1990 under the name THINKMAN.
