In the mid 60s he joined his brother Pat McAuley (organ, drums) in the Irish R&B cult
band THEM and was involved till the end of the band somewhere in 1966.
After that they formed the Kim Fowley produced BELFAST GYPSIES in the UK  with
only two 45s released on ISLAND;  one of these Singles released under the Name
The FREAKS OF NATURE. LP & EPs only released in Sweden, NL & France.
This band which was in sound nearer to THEM, but a lot rougher and played simpler.
After that he did play with some lesser known bands before he formed a Folk-Duo with
former Fairport Convention (1st LP) female singer  JUDY DYBLE.
They produced one nice Psych-Folkrock album for DAWN, which went nowhere at time.
After that he produced this folkrock (with some jazz influences) album, released in 1971.
It took him   till  1985, to record a 2nd Solo Album called GAEL FORCE, inbetween he had
worked on studio and live sessions with Jim Capaldi, The Heptones and Lonnie Donegan.
He co-wrote DEAR JOHN for STATUS QUO, which earns him some money.
