The Band started in 1961/ first produced by JOE MEEK.
Best known musicians are ROY YOUNG - keyboards, voc. he had some 45's released since end 50's
( Rock'n Roll and R&B )in the 70's he released 2 Albums as ROY YOUNG BAND (more good Jazz-Rock)
FRANK ALLEN - bass (only on the 1st LP left to join The SEARCHERS) CHAS HODGES - bass (Ex-Outlaws)
The Rebel Rousers released 3 Albums and 3 EP's between 1964 and 68 with a good brass section and the
marvellous voice of CLIFF BENNETT.
They only had little success chartwise the highest entries are No.9 with 'ONE WAY LOVE' (1964) & the
BEATLES cover 'Got to get you into my Life' came to No.6 (1966) They shared management with the
BEATLES (Epstein). A much loved tourband in Germany also did package Tours with the BEATLES.
In 1968 CLIFF went more Progressiv with the CLIFF BENNETT BAND later with TOE FAT, REBELLION (71)
& SHANGHAI (1975) these bands had MICK GREEN - guitar (Ex-Johnny Kid & the Pirates) and
KEN HENSLEY - keyboards, guitar (ex-Gods, pre-Uriah Heep) in the one or other lineup.
