FUGS, The
[The Belle Of Avenue A (1969)]

FUGS, The

Founded in 1965 from 2 Beat Poets  Tuli Kupferberg and Ed Sanders.
Finding a good mix of political motivated lyrics in connection with Folk,
Rock and even Psych.
In the 5 Years time of their existence are too many musicians changing
through the lineups, to name all.
The band first recorded for the Jazz & Folk Underground label ESP before
signing with Reprise in 1967 till split in 1970.
The band was headliner on the first day of the ESSENER SONG TAGE
in Sept.1968..the first big Festival in Germany.
Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser was the organizer of the festival and later founder of the
OHR & PILZ labels.
