Tony McPhee and Groundhogs first formed in  1963 and backed JOHN LEE HOOKER in this time. They recorded 1 LP together also an single on Planet was released. The Band disbanded in 1965 to be reformed in 1968 in the meantime
Tony recorded under  the name HERBAL MIXTURE two psychedelic singles for the COLUMBIA label.In this time he was involved on the first LP from JOHN DUMMER BLUES BAND named Cabal and on 2LPs from Jo-Ann Kelly.
