The Band started in 1961/ first produced by JOE MEEK. Best known musicians are ROY YOUNG - keyboards, voc. he had some 45's released since end 50's ( Rock'n Roll and R&B )in the 70's he released 2 Albums as ROY YOUNG BAND (more
good Jazz-Rock) FRANK ALLEN - bass (only on the 1st LP left to join The SEARCHERS) CHAS HODGES - bass (Ex-Outlaws)
The Rebel Rousers released 3 Albums and 3 EP's between 1964 and 68 with a good brass section and the marvellous
voice of CLIFF BENNETT.
They only had little success chartwise the highest entries are No.9 with 'ONE WAY LOVE' (1964) & the
BEATLES cover 'Got to get you into my Life' came to No.6 (1966) They shared management with the
BEATLES (Epstein). The much loved tourband in Germany also did package Tours with the BEATLES.
In 1968 CLIFF went more Progressiv with the CLIFF BENNETT BAND later with TOE FAT, REBELLION (1971)
& SHANGHAI (1975) these bands had MICK GREEN - guitar (Ex-Johnny Kid & the Pirates) and
KEN HENSLEY - keyboards, guitar (ex-Gods, pre-Uriah Heep) in the one or other lineup.
