REMO FOUR :
Oh what a great nearly overlooked band great R&B - Blues and Jazz tinged songs and
musically a live highlight.
Formed in 1962, the group was well known in the UK backing singers like JOHNNY SANDON,
GREGORY PHILLIPS and TOMMY QUICKLY, they even get allowed to release 2 singles under
their own name on the Piccadilly label, including an earl version of PETER GUN.
Tony Ashton joined in late 1963 from MIKE HURST . Since early in 1965 they stayed in Germany,
playing and recording for STAR CLUB.
Inbetween they toured through the German Clubs like PN Munich or Bugatti Bar in Hoechst.
Being a very asked Beat Club act.
On the STAR CLUB label they released two singles and 1 album in 1966.
In 1967 they backed GEORGE HARRISON on his WONDERWALL LP, after that the band split.
Ashton formed ASHTON GARDNER & DYKE great group but one hit only in the early 70s.
Later on he was with FAMILY ; PAL and worked as producer & session musician.
Colin Manley became - till his death 2008 - a member of the SWINGING BLUE JEANS.
Dyke one of the best rock drummers ever was with BADGER, BAUER GARN & DYKE or UFO,
to name a few.
