US band The CROSSFIRES which was active from 1963 to 1965, got forced to change name to The TURTLES,
when signed to WHITE WHALE Records by autumn 1965.
WHITE WHALE was distributed in the UK by LONDON and in Germany on POLYDOR.
With the 1st single release, a cover by Bob Dylan : IT AINT ME BABY they went straight into the US top 10.
With HAPPY TOGETHER they started to get international successful in the beginning of 1967.
After 6 LPs, TURTLE SOUP produced by RAY DAVIES of the KINKS fame, they split by end of 1969.
KAYLAN & VOLMAN joined ZAPPAs MOTHERs for 4 LPs, recording a first album as Duo in 1972 named
The PHLORESCENT LEECH & EDDIE but changed name to FLO & EDDIE in 1973.
They also did recordings in the UK with T.REX on Electric Warrior.
