Re-Issue 1977
They are among the best bands UK 60s had to offer, founded by former childhood star and
ex-MOMENTS member STEVE MARRIOTT in 1965.
They offered a great soul, R&B, psychedelic influenced Mod-Sound even some of their
songs recorded in 1968 showed the way to hardrock.
With a beautiful round-foldout-cover, looking like a tobacco tin, they produced an concept LP named :
ODGENs NUT GONE FLAKE, which was one of the highlights from 1968 in a row with :
S.F.SORROW - PRETTY THINGS; SGT PEPPERS - BEATLES or ODYSSEY And ORACLE
from the ZOMBIES.
In the beginning of 1969 MARRIOT left the band and became a founding member from
HUMBLE PIE one of the first, so called super-groups.
Marriot reformed the SMALL FACES around 1976 - 77 with Rick Wills on bass for the already ill LANE,
they released 2 albums without success before folding again in 1978.
Steve Marriott died 1991 in a fire at his home and Ronnie Lane died in 1997 after a long MS - illness.
