Started recording Rock n Roll in the late 50s signed by Fontana they released
5 Singles between 1959 and 1961 - He was featured on early TV broadcastings
like OH BOY and DRUMBEAT (LP Parlophone PMC1101 with: I Go Ape &
Slipping and Slidin) with artist like Cliff Richard; Bob Miller; John Barry Seven;
Adam Faith; Raindrops; Sylvia Sand and many more.
Fontana released also a DRUMBEAT - EP (TFE17146) feat. She Said Yeah.
In 1961 he went to Hamburg where the music scene begans to cook in clubs
like the TOP TEN or The INDRA, short before the STAR CLUB opened in 1962.
He founded together with TONY SHERIDAN the BEAT BROTHERS (incl. some
BEATLES members too) and The STAR COMBO - which became a whole
side on the PHILIPS LP P48036 with acts like: SEARCHERS; SOUNDS INC.;
RATTLES & PETER NELSON on the other side.
In 1963 the UK Pop Parade label issued an EP with BOB MILLER & The MILLERMEN,
who backed ROY YOUNG on songs like Big Fat Mamma & I hardly Know Me - other
artists are DUFFY POWER & AL SAXON.
In late ? 1962 je joined CLIFF BENNETT & The REBEL ROUSERS and was a member
till 1966 including opening the BEATLES German tour in 1966.
This event was filmed but only parts are shown at TV.
In the same year he started his ROY YOUNG BAND he did some recording but
nothing got released till he got signed to MCA in 1970 releasing 2LPs till 1972.
In the late 70s and 80s he did sessions with DAVID BOWIE & LONG JOHN BALDRY
whom he managed for some years.
In the last 10 years two CDs got released incl. THE BEST OF 50 YEARS on Angel Air.
He will play at the 50 Years of STAR CLUB - Festival in Hamburg in April 2012.
