JOHN COLTRANE  (1926-1967) :
He made his first recordings around 1945, by end of the 40s he worked for a very short time with Dizzy Gillespie.
With the Miles Davis Quintet he had his forming years with some breaks from 1955 till 1960 recording with him
the great  KIND OF BLUE album.
In this time he did his first solo albums with Prestige and Blue Note - the best will be : BLUE TRAIN (1957)
By 1959 he signed with Atlantic Records and had some of his biggest success in 1961 with MY FAVORITE THINGS.
By some of his next albums now with the famous Jazz-Label Impulse, he includes influences of oriental- and african
music - Best are Africa Brass and A LOVE SUPREME.
From the mid 60s till his dead in 1967 he opened his playing for Free-Jazz and worked with his 2nd wife ALICE and
PHAROAH SANDERS .  The Album ASCENSION stand for this time.
