Davy Jones worked at home in the UK as child actor before.
First album was produced with a lot of session musicians; like Hal Blaine; Stephen Stills;
Glen Campbel; L.Knechtel etc.;
because the original Monkees had to learn their instruments at first.
Michael Nesmith had written and recorded some songs on 45s before ( under the name Michael Blessing).
Pete Tork worked with Folkband "Au-Go-Go Singers in the early 60s.
In songwriting they had help from Neil Diamond; Neil Sedaka , Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart
(producer + later as musicians too).
An film "Head" and Soundstrack with involvement by Bob Rafelson, Jack Nicholson was
produced by FRANK ZAPPA .
Pete York & M.Nesmith split in the year 1969, the other worked on as Duo .
Reformation from the mid 70s with Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart .
Till today the band tours with different musicians like Mark Clarke (from COLOSSEUM)
Davy Jones, who worked on a new solo album, died in spring 2012.
