Sloan started as songwriter and singer in 1959 after two 45s he moved 1963 to LA and began a songwriter partnership
with Steve Barri for Dunhill Records. Writing songs for acts like Jan & Dean; Bruce Johnston, Terry Melcher, Rip Chords,
Searchers or Turtles and many more. They also did some own recordings under pseudonyms.
Sloan, Barri & Glen Campbell joined the studio surf-formation The FANTASIC BAGGYS which lasted from 1964 til 1966,
showing some excellent songs on their lone album.
Sloan got best known for writing the protest song EVE OF DESTRUCTION , which became a hit for BARRY McGUIRE.
He also wrote successful songs for The GRASSROOTS - in the beginning with him as singer too.
From 1965 till 1972 he recorded 4 Solo-LPs (2 on Dunhill) for different labels and also so,e 45s including one of his best songs:
'The Sins Of A Family' which reached the lower parts of the US Charts. He had a comeback in the years 2005/2006.
