JIMI HENDRIX (James Marhall Hendrix) (1942-1970) :
After some schoolbands and back from the US armee - he started his professional musicians career as sideman for
the likes of LITTLE RICHARD ; The ISLEY BROTHERS ; The IMPRESSIONS & The SUPREMES - only to name a few.
Some recordings exist - he also did some recordings with  CURTIS KNIGHT & The SQUIRES, before starting own group:
    JIMMY JAMES & The BLUE FLAMES - one of the concerts in Greenwich Village got visited by ex-ANIMALS bass player
CHAS CHANDLER  who got the info from a girlfriend.
He was so impressed that he gave HENDRIX immediatley a manager & producer contract - which let that Hendrix left the
USA for the UK - where they formed the EXPERIENCE.
For a first big concert at the Paris Olympic as opener for JOHNNY HALLYDAY they practised some small concerts in a munich
(Schwabing) club named BIG APPLE.
The HEY JOE single saw a release in Dec. 1966 and entered the UK charts in early 1967.
Some big festivals in USA followed first Monterey and the biggest Woodstock - which made him world wide successful after
short but intense 4 years all was over with his death in Sept.1970.

The ISLEY BROTHERS :
At the start in the early 50s they had 4 members bur brother VERNON died 1954 in
a accident. Around the mid 50s they started recording with many different label.
Best known songs are SHOUT covered by JOE DEE; LULU or CLIFF RICHARD
and their cover of TWIST & SHOUT  (written by the TOP NOTES) which reached
the US Top 20 and influenced BRIAN POOLE & The TREMELOES  and The BEATLES
to record it too.
In 1966 they signed to Tamla Motown but only THIS OLD HEART OF MINE reached
higher chart positions (#12) in 1966.
1969 they founded own label T-NECK distributed through Buddah later CBS.
