Born out of Beat group The JAYBIRDS  (1961-1965) the two main members Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons founded
Bluesrockers TEN YEARS AFTER in 1966.  The JAYBIRDS had played the Hamburg Star Club and played
with Tony Sheridan some times too.
Signed by Deram they released the first a great rocking album in 1967.The 2nd more jazz influenced album
hit the UK charts the sound was headed by the fast guitar of Alvin and the forth driving bass of Leo.
They got booked for the WOODSTOCK Festival in 1969 and their song Im Going Home was the highlight
on the film and soundtrack.In the early 70s their best time was over and they disbanded in 1974.
LEO LYONS:
Leo Lyons did sessions and worked as producer for acts like: Bridge St John , Magnum , UFO  etc.
In 1989 they reformed  but called it a day after one album, because Alvins Ego is to heavy at all.
Leo Lyons released two albums with his band KICK and stayed to record and producing in Nashville USA.
In 2003 the original members without Alvin Lee, but with a young guitarplayer named JOE GOOCH (a friend
of Leo s son) , reformed.

HUNDRED SEVENTY SPLIT :
Around 2009 Gooch & Lyons left Ten Years After and founded new band HUNDRED SEVENTY SPLIT -
they released so far (2016) 3 Studio & one Live LP. Ex - Bernie Marsden drummer Damon Sawyer joined
after the 2nd album.
Joe Gooch an unbelievable good guitar player who is a more versatile than Alvin....you must see live.
