MIKE STUART SPAN
Formed in Brighton UK in the mid 60s.
Band was signed at first to the EMI-COLUMBIA label, but got dropped after two flop singles in 1967.
They also dropped their brass section and found a new guitar player in BRIAN BENNETT.
With his sharp guitar they recorded what was the highlight CHILDREN OF TOMORROW released as 45 on their own JEWEL label in 1968.
After a last single for Fontana, they changed name to LEVIATHAN recorded 3 singles for Elektra in 1969.
An album already recorded, went unreleased till 1990, when a German Label Forgotten Jewel released a not so good sounding LP.
The band split but re-grouped under the name JASON CREST and did some recordings, which were released on WOODEN HILL
and TENTH PLANET some years later.
In 2015 UK magazine RECORD COLLECTOR released a 3 sided album in a limited Edition, with a great foldout cover.
Stuart Hobday became a music producer, Brian Bennett went to CALICO (released a one off LP) and Gary Murphy joined Hellmet.
