Georgie Fame (CLIVE POWELL) started backing BILLY FURY & MARTY WILDE. before he went Solo
as G.FAME & The BLUE FLAMES.
Through this group also went a lot of later well known musicians like JOHN McLAUGHLIN - guitar ; COLIN GREEN - guitar;
B.ODGERS - bass; JON HISEMAM & MITCH MITCHELL - drums; ALAN SKIDMORE etc. etc.
He had two number one Hits in UK with YEAH YEAH & GETAWAY.
At end of 1966 he split from The BLUE FLAMES - recording 1st an LP with Jazz Big Band before he became more Pop orientated ,
which gave him a new No.1 Hit with Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde.
In 1971 he had an partnership with ex-ANIMAL ALAN PRICE.
The 80s & 90s saw him working some years in VAN MORRISON's group as musical director.
He also released some Solo LP's in the same time too.
