Graham Gouldman who had otherwise hit over hit with his songs interpreted by other bands like

No Milk Today, Behind your Door with HERMANS HERMITS and Pamela Pamela by WAYNE FONTANA .. only to name a few.
His own 60s bands like the WHIRLWINDS or the MOCKINGBIRDS (5 Singles on 3 labels) released all great singles which
nobody bought.
After a short stint with the late MINDBENDERS.in 1967, he became a staffwriter for Bubble Gum Label Kasenatz-Katz.
In  the 70s & 80s he landed one hit after the other with his own groups  TEN CC & WAX
