Georgie Fame (CLIVE POWELL) started backing BILLY FURY & MARTY WILDE before he went Solo as G.FAME & The BLUE FLAMES. Through this group also went a lot of later well known musicians like JOHN McLAUGHLIN - guitar ; COLIN GREEN - guitar; B.ODGERS - bass; JON HISEMAM & MITCH MITCHELL - drums; ALAN SKIDMORE etc. etc.
Had two number one Hits in UK with YEAH YEAH & GETAWAY. At end of 1966 he split from BLUE FLAMES and became more Pop orientated ( No.1 Hit Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde) ,in 1971 he had an partnership with ex-ANIMAL ALAN PRICE.
In the 80s & 90s he worked some years in VAN MORRISON's group as musical director. He also released some Solo LP's in the same time too.
