Arthur Lee formed influenced by the BYRDS the group GRASSROOTS (1964) , he had to change the name
because another band had already the rights to the name, so LOVE was born in 1965.
The first 3 LPs recorded for Elektra, all three are great examples for US Folk-Psych especially "FOREVER CHANGES"
is one of the best 60s albums and is cult till today.
"Signed D.C." from the 1st LP and "7 and 7 is" on the 2nd album are outstanding often covered songs.
After their masterpiece Arthur formed a new LOVE formation, which cut the next 3 LP releases
for Blue Thumb, one the LP "Four Sail" was given out of contractual reason to Elektra..
With this new lineup he tended more to Heavyrock & Blues, also a new more heavy version
from "Signed D.C." was recorded for the "Out Here" double LP.
Later recordings till his death in 2003 are mainly done as ARTHUR LEE & LOVE or Solo.
