RYDER, MITCH with KING CHUBBY
[Monkey Island (1999)]

RYDER, MITCH with KING CHUBBY

Born William Levise jr. in Detroit. His first band in 1962-63 was BILLY LEE & The RIVIERAS, before starting
with his DETROIT WHEELS releasing 3 LPs and some hit collections from 1965 to 1967 produced by Bob Crewe.
Mitch Ryder is one of the best blue eyed soul shouters till today.
After one album: 'What Now my Love" with Pop Ballads, he found back to his roots with LP:
The DETROIT-MEMPHIS-EXPERIMENT backed by S.Cropper & Booker T. in 1969 followed by DETROIT in 1971
a great but more rough rock album. From 1972 till 1978, when he started recording for german label Line,
it was quiet around him. He now stands with one leg in Germany and is today touring with a great east-german
