THIN LIZZY
[Shades Of A Blue Orphanage (1972) LP SOLD!!!]

THIN LIZZY

Original first UK Release on Green Decca  with Gatefold sleeve  /small Promo Sticker on  label side 1

The band founded 1970 in Ireland by the very talented PHIL LYNOTT ; ERIC BELL and BRIAN DOWNEY.
After a first now very very rare single on Parlophone they got signed by Decca releasing 3 LPs till 1973.
Their 2nd single release after the Parlophone 45 was the Rock remake of a traditional folk song:
WHISKEY IN THE JAR  which went into the UK Top Ten.
After the 3rd more heavy style album VAGABONDS OF THE WESTERN WORLD they got a new deal with
Philips progressive label Vertigo at the same time they changed the guitar player too this time the first
but short membership from GARY MOORE with whom LYNOTT had played together in the band SKID ROW.
The guitar player was the most vacant job in the band through the years. JAILBREAK LP from 1976 shows
best  their twin guitar sound. The band split in 1983 and in 1986 Lynott who will be the mastermind forever died.
Most recommended albums are:  SHADES OF A BLUE ORPHANAGE (1972) ; JAILBREAK (1976) and
one of the best live albums ever: LIVE AND DANGEROUS from 1978.
